Ok, yeah, I've been somewhat quiet again. It's been a terrible time lately with work being insane, sicknesses, company visiting, etc, etc.
Last weekend, my sister visited. We were suppose to have gone to the ScareFest that was being held in Lexington. I was very excited about it because I'd never been to a strictly horror convention. This one also included a paranormal side, which was really cool even if Barry from GhostHunters International backed out. Alas... my sister was lazy and wouldn't get out of bed and ready to go to it. So, I missed it. We instead went shopping where she spent far too much money, but was then mad at me for not loaning her ten dollars so she could buy something that she really, really, really wanted. I can't stand it anymore when people look to me to cover their ass from them spending too much money. It happens all too frequently. It really pisses me off when people whine about not having money when they spend what they do have on trivial items or trips. But I'm not going to go there, because I will rant and rave for hours. Raph knows this all too well ;) On Sunday, I thought we were going to be able to do something fun... go to the Renaissance Festival. Again, Dee was being lazy and we left nearly two hours later than what I wanted to leave. Course, they raised the prices too, when we did finally get there. Guess we need to get use to that in this economy. Though it would have been really fun had there not been winds up to 30mph with gusts up to 60mph!!!! It was insane!!!! Trees were just snapping in half. Very dangerous. So, we merely got to watch the mudshow and the jousting match. Mind you, I said watch, not listen because you couldn't hear a damn thing. I had talked Wendell into going with us on one condition, we would stop at Smokey Bones for lunch/dinner. Well, we tried...but they were closed due to the electricity being out. In fact, the entire city of Florence was out of power. Did I mention we nearly ran out of gas? We drove for about a half hour to an hour after I first started looking for a gas station. None were open due to the power outage, and those that were open were so packed you couldn't pull into the parking lot. Thank goodness for Wendell's phone having GPS capabilities.
Then, the rest of last week was covered with work from 9am til sometimes 1am. I know one night I fell asleep at my desk around 12:30am and wendell woke me to go home at 1:30am. My desk needs to be raised higher for proper sleep though. :P
Then the bad struck hard this past Friday. I thought I was going to loose Wendell, due to him not being able to read. Our local Kroger's has a sushi chef and there had been some sushi prepared earlier that day that Wendell had picked up. Wendell has an allergy to a preservative which is used on fish, shrimp, and other non-shelled seafood. Most of the sushi was made with crab. Though, he can eat Salmon and Tuna. He grabbed a piece, thinking it was Tuna but turned out to be Tilapia. Tilapia is soaked in the preservative and he had a reaction. He was hearing his own heartbeat in his head to which I say was about 150 or so. Then it dropped to well below a 100. As his heart rate dropped, so did his BP. He tried throwing up, and got just enough out to get more regulated. The rest of the night, I tried to watch over him. For it to scare him as bad as it did, it means that it was very very bad... Maybe now he'll look before he inhales.
Saturday was just wrought with more work. Then Sunday, was more work, but... from having to watch videos for editing, I accidentally scratched my own eye. It's bad. Finally went to the doc yesterday, and he said I scratched it in the worst possible way. So right now, I'm on an antibiotic-steriod eye drop that should help heal it and keep down the infection. Right now, its like looking at something without my glasses on. Its all blurry and getting worse by the minute. I'm trying to keep working, but it's getting more difficult. Wendell actually built a tent for me at the office to block out the sunlight, which really hurts and makes it harder to see.
So, hopefully things will be better by this weekend. We're suppose to go see Jeff Dunham in concert. I've been looking forward to this for a long time now. So, here's hoping...
